The existence, our 'being there', with all that entails, is the inevitably broad theme touched this time by twelve international artists, with works as always coming from the OGA Collection.

Mahedi Anjuman (Bangladesh, 1987) is living in Reno and is studying in the Masters of Fine Arts at the University of Nevada, Reno. She was born in Bangladesh, the land of the mystics. She is very involved in the contemporary conceptual art process and experimenting art mediums. She has been inspired by Joseph Beuys’ statement, ‘everything is art and everybody is an artist’. She is curious about existentialism and being’s psychological impact of action reaction. “My desire in art is to re-connect to the authenticity that exists in nature, and to remind us of our core instincts” (M.A.).

Teymur Daimi (Baku, Azerbaijan, 1966) filmmaker, visual artist, philosopher (PH.D.). Graduated from Azerbaijan State Art College in 1985 and Azerbaijan State Culture and Art University in 1993. Since 2001 he has been working on audiovisual sphere as a film director. He is participant of International Film Festivals, Exhibitions and Biennial including 1st Thessaloniki Biennial in 2007 and at the 53rd Venice Biennial in 2009 in the frame of Azerbaijan pavilion. Member of the Union of cinematographers of Azerbaijan.

Davide De Lillis (Caserta, Italy, 1985) comes from a faraway world. Following the sounds of pre-Roman rites, he arrives in Cori. He learns, from a group of knights, to tell and dance the lives of heroes who made of empathy and vulnerability their strength. He is flown by the impetuous winds of a hurricane to Palermo, where he works as an apprentice in the workshop of a Shaman and a Fisherman. He becomes a young artist and, aboard a paper boat, sails for adventures in unknown lands. He arrives in Berlin, where he starts a fellowship with a group of 77 stolen fish.

Kuesti Fraun (Wiesbaden, Germany, 1976) Graduated in drama, cinema and TV, he founded the creative collective Mobtik in 1999. Multi-award-winning independent filmmaker, his works have been projected at the Louvre Museum in Paris, at the Museum of Multimedia Art in Moscow, at the EXPO in Milan, at the Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf, receiving nominations for Marler Videoartprize and ArtFilmFestival in Cannes, at the NASA and Cinema Arts Society Houston, and many more.

Werther Germondari (Rimini, Italy, 1963) Visual artist, performer and filmmaker graduated in Institutions of Direction at the University of Bologna and at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. Attentive to innovative experimental neo-conceptual dynamics that are characterized by an ironic and surreal taste, since the early eighties has carried out research through numerous expressive media. Michele Sanzò (Cercemaggiore, Italy, 1955) Actor, author of independent videos and theater director graduated from the National Academy of Dramatic Arts 'Silvio D'amico' in Rome and at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena. Maria Laura Spagnoli (Amelia, Italy, 1960) Graduated in History of Music at the University of Rome, and in Institutions of Direction at the University of Bologna, she has lived and collaborated artistically with Werther Germondari since 1988. The three artists collaborated between 1996 and 1999 creating a series of underground videos.

Kuo Ying Hsiu (Taiwan, 1985) is a transdisciplinary artist. In recent years, she’s been focusing on social issues and the relationship between field and identity. She is interested in social interaction and symbolic interaction, both interpersonal and between people and field. Through observations and social experiments during the last few years, she created different works in the various field. The repeated movement and background sound to reflection the possibility of the body and self-identity.

Yang Liu (China, 1991), a choreographer, body explorer, who graduated from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, MFA in dance. Her recent works focus on body senses and performance exploration, seeking the personality in the body and sensational instinct. Meanwhile, she explores how to represent and create meaning of the body in field and time.2017-2018, appointed as choreographer and performer in Preschool English Education Program in Guangzhou Getlearn Company. Slawomir J Milewski (Lidzbark Warminski, Poland, 1979). London based polish artist and filmmaker, he completed his Master degree at University of Fine Arts in Poznan, Poland. He was awarded a scholarship by Universite Rennes 2 in Rennes, France. His films has been presented and awarded at numerous festivals and exhibitions in North and South America, Europe and Australia. “For filmmaker Slawomir Milewski, the ultimate transgression is not living life to the fullest; refusing to embrace life and instead, travailling in a grey, dull space void of joy”. José Simões (Beira, Mozambico, 1975). Portuguese artist graduated in Fine Arts Sculpture in Oporto Fine Art School with academic background in Analog Photography, Drawing and Video. Signed in the Master of Urban Design: Art, City, Society in the Fine Art School of Barcelona University. Acquisition Award FUSO | Fundação EDP 2015 with the video "How the Portuguese eat the White Bread Toast". At this moment mostly of is time is dedicated to video experimental, documentary and video art, where developed works related with portrait as well the collect of meanings.

Tahir Un (Akhisar, Turchia, 1960) Tahir Un was born in Turkey in 1960. He holds a BA degree from Language and History-Geography Faculty of Ankara University, where he studied History of European Arts. He gives lectures in photography and multimedia essay in the Communication Faculty of Yasar University, Turkey. Tahir Un is currently active in photography and new media arts. He lives in Izmir. “If art is a language to express myself, then inspiration ought to be the very life in which I am. And societal issues troubling me every so often, and sometimes my own dilemmas…” (T.H.)
